**NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 670 FROM £249.99 & GTX 680 from £329.99 Inc. VAT!!!**

Although Nvidia has a record of rebadging old gen cards as news gen in the pass, I think this gen is the first time ever they do a cosmetic/paint-job rebadge for at least three cards straight from previous gen?

Nope :P

8800GT > 9800GT > OEM GTS240
8800GS > 9600GSO (G92)
8800GTS (G92) > 9800GTX (became 9800GTX+ after a die shrink, then renamed GTS250)
8400GS > 9300GS

No titan cooler now either apparently. What a disappointment and utterly pointless release.

Would it really have been so special to release a rebranded 680 with inferior cooling to the 3rd party board makers at about the same price point that's been around for over a year?

Yea it's a tough fight...it's like the iphone they are lower in spec, parts costs and performance, but with their shiny brand name, they will still sell far more than the competitor which offer superior products at comparable/lower prices...

Quite frankly...I don't know if AMD would ever manage to shift enough users away from Nvidia...

The shinier brand name is so powerful. Apple is a classic example.

Gibbo

How is this likely to affect the lower end of the market:
GTX 660Ti
GTX 660
GTX 650Ti Boost
GTX 650Ti

Will we see these prices drop slightly or only when they start to roll out a GTX 760 card?

NVIDIA have no plans to move any other prices and 760 is not coming yet, no ETA for that as I suspect NVIDIA will want the channel to clear through stocks on 660Ti and what is left on 670 first.

So VGA wise, there are no more planned launches now for a while. Apart from the huge major Haswell launch this weekend.
