Performace is around what I was exspecting and undercuts the 780 by 50-80quid or so which is good. Sadly I was expecting it to chew on the power and the heat but not quite this much.

Looks like the GK110 seem to have the better over design, I wonder what the 780ti or a fully unlocked card would bring to the table.

Still I say PRICE WAR, which is good for us all. Apart from Gibbo's margins

The 290X looks great imho, the only downside being temps, noise and overclocking. When the stock card is trading blows with a Titan it's still a great GPU. Gibbo's review had a 1300mhz 780 which did beat the overclocked 290X in a few things. I'm glad that was included as means 290X would be sidegrade for me so I can breath a sigh of relief and not spend any more money :D

Now roll on 20nm..

No way would I be considering it! I only play at 1080p and whilst I do love benching :p, I'm definitely holding out for 20nm now.

Hi there

Right guys, I got some voltage control, so I've done a benchmark run at 1200MHz core and 6400MHz memory, gives quite a substancial boost in performance over the 1060MHz core and 6000Mhz benchmarks I did this week.

Check them out here:-

Such a damn quick card, this now places it ahead of the 1310MHz GTX 780 I included in the review in all test. :)

I'll tell you what a 290X at 1200 core matches my stock 7950 crossfire setup.

Gibbo's 290X @1200/1500 - Valley - 73.1 FPS - Score 3059

LtMatt's 7950 Crossfire @925/1250 - Valley - 73.1 FPS - Score 3059

That is impressive. :)

So it's roughly on par with a 780 but a little cheaper? Pretty much what I expected then :)
The jumps in GPU performance really seem to have slowed lately, much like CPUs I guess. Perfectly happy with the performance my 680 is putting out so won't be buying a new GPU for a while anyway.
