Hi everyone,

after installing the 14.2 beta drivers I solved the problem of poor performance of my sapphire "r9 290x tri-x oc" on first boot, unfortunately it turned out another more serious problem, when I raise the voltage the gpu starts to throttle the frequency from 1150 MHz up to 900 MHz approximately...:eek::eek:
If the voltage remains at stock setting the gpu never drops the frequency, no throttling... Why??:confused::confused:

I use the latest versione of TRIXX software with power limit +50.

Has anyone noticed something like that with the latest drivers?

It's a issue with the drivers unfortunately, report it, I'm sure lt will be along shortly with the link.

A temp cure would be to revert back to 13.12.

This guy.

The 13.12 drivers are like a shining bastion of light amongst the large nutty turds that are 14.1 and 14.2.

Revert :)

Why is it not all of us having these issues?
50+ power issue never had.
Poor DirectX under 14.1 never had
Core throttling again never had?

Don't understand why tbh it's only some and not all us.

Could try a different bios using AtiWinflash but most likely it's the 14.2 drivers. These Beta drivers are a mess, 14.2 works great for me but 14.1 was terrible with throttling or stuck on 150MHz memory clock with no profiles set up. Whereas 14.1 seemed good for others but 14.2 is giving them problems. Hopefully 14.x whql will sort it all out!
