Exactly the same reason I upgraded too, I added a second 460 for 3D after having the first for a year but they just don't cut it for even 2D these days. Yeah I hope the 980Tis last a long time, obviously with Pascal coming it may not be as long as it could be but ill just be happy with getting rid of the old cards to be honest.

Well we have a good year of driver improvements till Pascal is out before they start retarding them, we best take advantage of them while we can!

This card is seriously impressive. Dead silent and fast! No coil whine, Perfect for my quiet build. I feel that at £539 this was a steal. Didn't get any haribo's which was very disappointing.

Can I ask for some advice please guys. My gigabyte gtx 980ti has arrived and I think it's doa. It fires up and fans spin and windforce lights up but no signal to monitor. Tried dvi, hdmi and display port but none work, tried 2 different pci express slots and also different pci-e psu leans and no signal. Stick my gtx970 gigabyte back in and signal immediately. I am using a asus gene 1v z gen 3 which has pcie3 but wondering if the board doesn't support the ti? Seems strange as it accepts the 970. Tried reseating it a few times and no joy. I have older drivers installed though but surely I should still be able to see bios? Do you think it's a rma?

Have you tried a BIOS update for your motherboard?.

Possible that your board might need a bios update, also try new drivers with the 970 then swap back over to the new card.

I'm on the second newest bios but the last update was 2012 so I can't see that will make a difference if the 970 worked? I think I'm on the 352 branch of drivers though but surely they wouldn't make a difference in bios, just windows? I can't see it in bios or windows.

Mmm, try the new drivers. Bios should be ok then. Just that with some new cards I've seen people who required an update fir the card to be recognized.

Afterburner for some games, but I mainly play bf3/4 where I limit fps using a user.cfg file. The latter allows the use of various commands in those games, fps limit, on screen fps display being a few.

Check in the MM and look at what prices are there and what they've sold for lately?. Then you can realistically price your card. If you don't have access to the MM then the same rules applies to other places (Eb*y).
