Can anyone tell me why my kfa2 980ti hof won't go above 94% power in msi afterburner. Power limit is set to 120% but I never see above 94%. 1.21v on core . Card sits happily at 1520Mhz but won't go any higher as I suspect it maybe a psu issue. My psu is a corsair 650m gold rated psu. Any ideas?

They never do. I think that when you set it to 120%, that effectively becomes the new 100% so you'll never see it go over 100%, because its 100% of the 120% you've set.

I can get mine to go to roughly 104% power with +30% power and +87mV, so I am not too sure this is true, but it'd make sense because before I messed with voltage it sat at ~95% like the previous poster said.

I can't get either of mine to go over about 90%, but when I try to reach the limits of overclocking at mid 1500's the reason they limit is "power limit" :S
if I start using extra mv they just limit at a lower clock speed

Looks a little disappointing like most of the recent Lightning cards.

For gaming a MSI gaming version makes more sense.

For extreme benching an EVGA Kingpin makes more sense.

They missed a trick with the aesthetics i think, yellow on the front none on the back. The lightning bolts in yellow would have looked great.

It is strange how AIB partners limit themselves to a single colour scheme for their cards. How hard could it be for cards to come with replaceable coloured parts like Corsair do with their fans.

For the most part i think oem's want their customers not to mess with the card as much as possible. The airboss cards though do have a hsf assembly that can be taken apart for cleaning and its mentioned as one of the features. Some oem's would deny an rma if they suspected the shroud was taken off.

Thinking of getting a reference 980ti and adding one of the aio coolers further down the line, now I know it's said that you should use reference versions only with the blower fan but can any other versions be used with the evga, corsair or nzxt kits?

Terrible camera for indoors on the Moto X sorry!

So it took me quite a while to get to this point.

I was debating with myself for ages between the HOF, 6G or G1. Went for the 6G and while performance was good, the temps were reaching nearly 80 (sometimes breaching) under witcher 3 after about 30 mins (tried out the various profiles). Paying more for the aftermarket cooler, I wasn't impressed and RMA'd it. (I don't like doing this but it's a very expensive item to not be happy with...).

Anyway, spent the next week reading basically every review of every card online... I wanted the G1 for it's great performance and temps, but its' louder + potential coil whine issues put me off. It's also £600. The more I read about the Palit though the more it made sense - cool card, silent, decent overclocker, looks go with my set up... just the lack of feedback was off putting. At £515 I took the plunge though and damn was it a good choice

I ran witcher 3 under the same conditions as the MSI card and it didn't go above 68C :eek:

Not only that but the stock boost clock runs higher than the MSI card... and it also overclocks better too, I beat my benchmarks all around. Well - do I have a better ASIC card you ask? No, it is actually worse! (by about 1 ~ 2 %).

So yeah - this palit runs quieter, runs cooler, runs faster, and is cheaper than the MSI... happy to say the least.

Running an overclock of 1440mhz + 3950 memory stable on witcher 3 currently. Still not getting above 68, but I think I will get it to ~72 when I close the door/windows to cook it up in here.

Finally managed to shift my GTX Titans for £550 as a pair. With some help from Hivisman, I got an MSI 980Ti non-ref model for a bargain

Carrying on from my last post... now I'm truly impressed with the Palit. I looped Valley for 2 hours with windows and door closed (small room), and when I came back in it is very toasty in here indeed. Uncomfortably so. Max temp on the card this whole time was 71C.... (my MSI 6G under these conditions reached 82). Staying Silent the whole time too.

Did notice my maxi being a bit toasty however the heat and noise compared to 780 sli, omg! It's awesome
