Im looking to upgrade my Dell 2001FP very soon as i fancy some Widescreen gaming,so far im more than happy with DELL and want to stick with them for the upgrade.

Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP 20" Widescreen
Or
Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" Widescreen

I use the monitor for mainly gaming and have picked these two, could anybody please post a picture of their 2407WFP so that i can really see how big it is.
Thanks :)

2405FPW vs 2005FPW just to show size difference there for you. The models are pretty much the same but with a different stand.

guess the choice depends on how much you are willing to spend :) The 2407WFP is a lovely bit of kit and the extra size is really nice to have. Once you've gone 24" though, you won't want to use anything smaller :)

24" all the way :p

ps, i have a 2007WFP here with me and when i hooked it up it looked TINY since i was so used to my lovely 2405FPW :)

Just sent a web note to the shop as the last time i ordered a DELL monitior i had to buy a cloverleaf power cable out of my own pocket.

Also will the 24" come with a DVI cable?

Thanks.

I'm trying to decide tonight whether to click buy or not on the 2407. I was pretty much convinced thanks to Badass clearing up some questions last weekend.

My only doubt now is that upgrading from a 20" 4:3 to a 24" 16:9 only increases the screen height by just under an inch and adds about 4.5 to the visible width. No more vertical pixels and 320 more horizontally. Is that worth £600+ ? It might feel a lot more in use perhaps? I don't know, maybe I'm just trying ot think of reasons not to do it...

it should come with a DVI cable, but i dont think they are being shipped with power cords at the moment.

In regards to 20" vs 24", it really is a big different in real use and if you plan to use it for movies at all, it really comes into it's own there :) do it!

It's like I've got a little devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other pulling me back and forth :)

One last question (honest) - Does the 2407 have a power brick thing or is it straight to the mains with a kettle lead?

tell me about it... something doesn't seem quite right paying £5-600 on a monitor

with me though that little devil forced me to enter my CC details :o

Thought I would bump this up for you.

Pay cheque comes in 2 weeks time. Badass is probably getting slightly annoyed that I still haven't bought a monitor. I'm using my 32" at the moment and I no for a fact that whatever I get it will be tiny. But £600 just seems to much. I paid £800 for my Samsung TV and it does everything. The 2407 does everything as well... but I don't need it to. Think I am going to go for the 2007. I really like the new design. very sleek.

Good idea. Shame though, if you had bought it the other week you would have saved yourself nearly £50!

Just noticed the 2007WFP has dropped from £375 to £317! I paid £305 for it about 2 weeks ago!

ahh damn. I could do with saving money lol.

When it comes down to it though I don't use my PC for gaming as often now. 360 F T W!
