ok so are you all done yet....

This isnt a comparison thread, if anyone wants to discuss GT HD or GT5 which has no firm relelase date and NOTHING of it has been shown so far then please do so in a GT thread...

Its pointless....

Anyone that thinks this game wont look good, fine that they can offer their opnion, but i wish you could discuss or explain why you think this to be the case, even show us examples of why....
Someone said 'the graphics look awesome' so that needed to be replied to :) I suppose I could have just said 'no they don't' but I thought it would be better to give a reference point.

Looking at your own set up of the smaller monitors in multi set up, I've gone off the idea. I dont think thats much more benefit than one larger screen. The bezels would annoy me too much. Sure I know you have pillars in a real car but when I thought about it I always race in chase view so it wouldn't help much.

This looks like pretty good to me and in this shot the wheels seem finely shadowed yet see the nice reflections on the car.

I particulary like this shot as it demonstrates the damage to the Bridgestone advert and how this will be scraped along the car. Also notice the long draw distance and the tire marks on the track...

WOW, I think it looks AWSOME, better than any of that PS3 CRAP, and as for GT, bah

j/k,

seriously it does look nice, nothing amazing though, then I'm one of those people that see's if a game is enjoyable to play not just spangly, what excites me is the fact that you can have multible screens, is this new to the 360 version or could you do that on the original xbox version also, could be very temped with a couple of extra core packs and screens

Its a good point to make and well tbh thats no longer the setup i have.

I can say that having both experienced playing on a 80" screen or using a multiscreen setup the multi screen is still more impressive, it just opens up the whole enviroment on whatever track your on, really single screen no matter what size shows so little of the game at any given time.

Chase view woud still show the benifits of seeing other cars around you but a second screen could be used simply for a rearview mirror.

Yeah so I would really need 3 was my thinking and I doubt the chair women woulds spring to that right now :D Well not for just one game.

That bridgestone comment you made on scraping the wall interests me because I wouldn't ever notice anything like that apart from on a still because 99% of the time in a driving game i'm concentrating so hard I dont even notice the scenary :)

Motgp had little off track features yet I didnt really notice it because I never had time to look around :D

It looks quite pretty in my opinion, though I'd like to see it running properly before I gauge a proper opinion on the graphics.

I think the graphics look pretty good, the car model detail looks very nice. Unfortunately, any game that involves a race track, you can't really go into super amazing detail, as other than trees and stadiums, what can you keep adding?

dirtydog, I may be wrong, but isn't the GT HD demo thingy now a little more than just an upscaled GT4? More of a highly cut down GT5 demo, that probably wont look as good as GT5, but still run and look pretty good compared to GT4? Somebody can correct me though.

I agree to some extent, but nonetheless there is a difference between looking 'real' and looking somewhat cartoony, and Forza 2 seems to be leaning towards the latter. I am only going by the screens posted/linked to in this thread :)

If that is the case then it might explain why the screens I've seen look so impressive :) It is hard to find screenshots on the web which are not touched-up photomode-type ones, but I saw some in a thread on another forum earlier which were in-game.

Having still not played Forza 1 on the Xbox, I can't really comment on what I'm hoping for Forza 2 to be like to play, but I may have to try getting hold of Forza for my Xbox to to see what the fuss was about. If Forza 2 feels like a good proper racing game instead of the arcade fun of PGR3, then I'll probably like it quite a lot, but we'll have to see.

Just having a quick double check google/wiki of GTHD, and it seems I can confirm that it's more a GT5 prologue than GT4 in high res, so I'm expecting GT5 to look overall a little better than GTHD, but not that much.

dirtydog have you got an X360?
Unless he bought one in the last week, no he doesn't.

Ive downloaded several 720p HD videos of GT HD and im not over impressed , i can show why too but the game isnt anything special.

Yes its possible to do 1080p but compare it to a PC game if you had the chance would you...

1) Up all graphic effects/shaders/lighting to max and lower the resolution
2) Reduce all the graphical effects to a mimimium and increase the resoution for extra sharpness.

Personally my view is that if GT4 was playable on the PS3 in an upscaled state to 720p or 1080p (which it cant) it wouldnt look much different.

Also noticed from the videos that the audio is still very out dated and the same as GT3 was, even going over the bridge the road noise doesnt seem to exist or change, yet its a wooden bridge and the same goes for the tunnel.
No tire marks apear on the track and you get a puff of smoke that quickly vanishes..

From a simulation point of view which both of these styles of games are id say GT HD will not compete and its only reasonable to expect that as really its a 2 year old game with a higher resolution.
