What happens when you light 30,000 match heads

Obviously they were very bored at the time they though this up. Funnily enough I was only thinking what would happen if you ignited thousands of match heads the other day. I guess that says a lot about me as well. Luckily someone has already done it.

Sorry, but no where near as impressive as I was expecting.
A couple of dozen fireworks would be bigger and cost less on a time spent=money basis.

I've had far better results from 100 party popper caps, 1m of sellotape and a coke bottle. Result - destroyed washing line pole and very angry neighbours

I seem to remember average box contents are 42 matches. Based on that, and the 20p price tag of a pack of five boxes I saw somewhere...approximately £3.

I saw this video a few days ago. It is great. I once convinced some people to try something like this (on a smaller scale), but it was raining, so it didn't ignite.

What happens when one ignites those popper things? (The things you throw to the ground to cause a bang sound).
