Hey folks!

So i've just realised you can install themes for XP! I was bored with the whole start button, general taskbar window look etc!

After downgrading from Vista I miss certain elements, but realised you can get some cool themes for XP!

Does anyone use them? Can you use your own wallpaper and mouse cursors if you prefer with them?

Where do you get yours from?

Feel free to post images of your desktop etc!

if i was running xp, that last thing i'd want to do is make it look like vista. i've been running vista for over a month now and i'm starting to get ******* off with the default look. shame they aren't any decent 3rd party vista themes yet. the ones i've seen on neowin so far suck. :p

I quite like it. It'll do until I can actually use Vista itself, once I get my graphics card back from RMA.

Anyway, have a look here fir Vista themes:

As for performance drains...I really doubt that visual styles have any signifcant effect on performance for any remotely modern PC.

I use Flyakite OSX modifier.

It changes the Windows GUI to a Mac-esque minimalistic theme, but retains the layout and structure of XP, so you don't get lost. It looks great and barely uses any resources.

No I would like to, but I would want to design my own, it seems like a lot of hard work and installing 3rd part software.

is there any open source 3rd part software to do it?
