so i received my new viewsonic vx226wm on new years eve (over the asus vh226h after i read 78 reviews on newegg all concerning backlight bleed :D), the monitor really is amazing; at a native resolution in 16:9 of 1280x1080 with zero dead pixels (2 stuck pixels but i just rubbed them and they dissapeared) it has no backlight bleed, 2ms response is great and i havnt noticed any input lag at a competitive gaming level, the blacks are also good enough to justify graphics design work and the 1080p is great (although if you have a 360 or ps3 you are going to notice blurryness up close as most games do run at 720p, but wipeout hd and granturismo look AMAZING.. as does all of my pc games both hd and non hd) - Thanks OCUK and DHL for my awesome monitor

however, i noticed a problem..

i want to run my PC FPS games in a lower resolution and 75hz - the problem is that although i can get 75hz in any 4:3 resolution e.g. 1280x1024... When i try to run 75hz at 1280x720 (16:9) it won't allow me too, i find this very odd considering the res is smaller and on my old samsung 2032mw 16:10 i could get 75hz (although choppy) at 1280x800. I can get 1360x768 to display 75 hz which is another 16:9 resolution ie. i have no real need to sit here whining - its just really annoying me that i cant get 1280x720!! because i always thought that hz on lcds was dependant on resolution size, when clearly i was wrong and i have been lucky that there is one lower native aspect resolution res that works at 75hz... and i dont want to make a similar mistake in the future

Thanks
