hi everyone, i'm needing your help on choosing a laptop for my parents. Firstly as my parents don't trust the internet the laptop will be purchased at a store. The budget they have to spend is no more then £400. I have narrowed it down to three laptops, which looks the better buy?

Laptop 1

Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T3400 (2.16GHz processor speed)
2GB DDR2 RAM
15.6in screen (1366 x 768 pixels)
250GB SATA hard drive
Intel GMA X4500M (Int. Graphic) graphics
802.11b/g wireless enabled
Windows Vista Home Premium
£399

Laptop 2
Asus X59GL
Intel Pentium T3400 dual core processor (2.16GHz processor speed)
2GB DDR2 RAM
250GB hard drive
15.4in screen (1280 x 800 pixels)
nVidia GeForce 8200M graphics card
Wireless/WiFi enabled - b/g/n
Microsoft Windows Vista Premium.
£399

Laptop 3
Acer Aspire 5535
AMD Turion X2 RM-72 (2.10GHz processor speed)
4GB DDR2 RAM
320GB SATA hard drive
15.6in HD widescreen (1366 x 768 pixels)
ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics with 256MB dedicated graphics memory
Wireless/WiFi enabled - b/g/n
Microsoft Windows Vista Premium
£399

cheers

Which store? Do all the laptops come with a Win7 upgrade offer? (Just thinking that it might be another £50 saved, and Windows 7 might go down better on a budget laptop!)

I'd personally go for the ASUS, it's better looking and is slightly better specced than the Samsung. I would avoid the Acer.

Hi Skyboat, Thanks for the responce i think that i'm going to go with the ASUS like you suggested. I would agree about the Acer it wasn't my first choice.

Thanks

Hi FatalSaviour, thanks for the responce, i think that OcUk's policy on this forum doesn't allow me to mention the store name. In regards to the Win7 upgrade offer the store in question seems to be very picky about what laptops are included in this offer. So i'm not sure if these laptops come with the win7 offer. Either way the machine's use will be very limited in terms that all my parents want is to be able to surf the net, and store photos, so i will be stripping the laptop down to the bare minimum.

regards

just a little update in the end i have bought my parents a Hp Compaq Presario CQ71-230SA here are the specs:

Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor T4200 (2.1Ghz)
3 GB RAM
250GB Hard drive
17.3" HD BrightView widescreen
3D Sound Blaster Pro
Lightscribe Super Multi DVD-RW
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
£449.

It was a good buy, my parents love it so job done, except making that purchase lead to me having an argument with a sales advisor, who thought he knew what we wanted better then me , including trying to flog us rubbish insurance and norton internet sercurity. I was having none of it. :D
