T-mobile Pulse - Android touch phone.

im having a minor problem at the moment but it doesnt appear to be the phone. I've bought co pilot but every time i try to install it i get a 'download unsuccessful' message and it doesn't install, the payment has gone through, copilotmis marked 'purchased' on the market, im able to download and install other payed and unpaid apps but not copilot. I have 8 gig of space left on the phone and everything else seems to be working OK.

Any suggestions will be most appreciated as im running out of time to get a refund.

Thanks :)

There's the link. You need to hold the vol- key and red key and turn your phone on which will put it in fastboot mode.Check the date it says,if it's sept you need to put the december update on your memory card.It says how to do it in that post.
Then download the custom recover rom image, there is also a link on that page I put up.
Then you need to download the main rom, don't unzip it and put it on your memory card again.Once it's on your memory card put the card back in your phone, hold down the menu key and the red key then turn it on and it'll put your phone into recovery mode.Select wipe first(you will lose all your data!) then select "flash zip from sdcard" and it'll install it.When I did it said my phone was restarting but it didn't so I had to take the battery out and restart it myself.Once it's on the first boot may take a while.
If you have any problems there's plenty of advice on the modaco website.

We still have some in the stores. We have contract ones but no PAYG ones in my store. I'm sure there'll be some PAYG ones floating around in other stores.

We haven't had any news on what's going to be the new android PAYG phone yet. I reckon it'll be the LG GW620 though as we currently have the predecessor (GW520) on PAYG. But don't take my word for it as everything changes next month so anything could happen.

Hmm, it's quite similar to the i5700, but it has a better camera and keyboard. The Sammy on the other hand has a better screen, but it's six and two threes. Just have to wait and see i guess.

Indeed, although I'm waiting for the xperia x10, which will hopefully be awesome..... If Sony erricson haven't some how found a way to ruin android aswell. :p

Spent saturday morning calling the bristol t-mobile stores, cribs causeway had two payg instock, now they got only one, i paid £139 for the phone and £20 topup.

According to a T-Mobile sales rep, the Pulse has not been discontinued but temporarily pulled pending testing of the current (or newer) software update. Some stores still have old stock, but they will not sell the phone directly on the website or via tele-sales until testing is complete. Apparently there were many complaints of the phone freezing. I tried to push the rep to sell the phone on contract directly, but the best they could offer was to search for stock in stores locally...

Anyone got the dialup software to recognise the phone? Must be doing something stupid? Using windows7 by the way.

Didn't hear anything about that O_o; the news we got just said that it was end of line and that there would be no more stock into stores.

Anyone find pictures on website very undetailed/pixallated? Is it because of the standard browser I'm using? Options?

I thought that was the case too as I had been reading on forums, so I pushed the rep for info. There is always the chance she was waffling me though! :D

Thought I would share a tip I found on another forum, apologies if it has already been covered here.

If you want to have a more sensitive screen on your T-Mobile Pulse, you can achieve this by wrapping the battery in foil and/or placing some foil inside the back cover. Make sure to insulate the foil with tape or plastic film so as not to short anything. There has been speculation that the foil acts as a faraday cage and reduces interference, thus allowing the capacitive touchscreen overlay to detect finger touches more accurately. If you want to see the improvement before bothering with this mod, place your phone on a metal surface (I used a steel tray) and try typing something. It made a massive improvement for me on the screen edges, but I have the original screen protector in place so it may or may not have the same result for you.
