Will be used for cooling a highly clocked Q6600.

Would be using 2 Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent fan with the VX.

What do you chaps recon?

The VX is just a fancy true and they been around for moons...and for a reason there one of the best. the h50 will one day break and has a higher chance to break then a lump of metal :D. Also on the q660 i dont think you will get much better temps with the vx. However if ever get a i7 at 4GHZ+ the vx will pull out better load temps. Ill go hide before the h50 fanclubs tell me howtheir i7 super cool :D;)

EDIT: just read the above after posting i rest my case :P

Surely with the VX I could pump more volts into the Q6600?

Currently at 3.4GHz at 1.28v. Would like 3.8Ghz ish....

I was going to buy the H50 just wondering if there was a better a air cooler and looks like there is.

Is the paste any good what comes with it was thinkin of getting ARCTIC SILVER AS5

Well I have a tube of AS5 so that's what I was going to use.

But thats a good point, whats the paste that comes with the VX like?

Also did any of you users increase the pressure to the 70lb's?

I've got the NH-D14 at the minute but i've just ordered a venomous x and 2 x black apache fans since i want a new psu and it wont fit with the Noctua.

What would be the recommend pressure, for me it would be best to leave I would either put to much on or to little unless its easy enough to work out lol

Think im a candidate for this thread.

I currently have a Scythe mugen (i think its a mugen) and akasa 120mm fan. Its running my Q6600 @ 3.2ghz, 40idle. 80load

I looked into getting the Venomous X but decided to get the H50 instead due to the monsterous size and me being terrible at installing heatsinks.

I will be using some AS5 with the H50, it arrives tomorrow so ill let you know how i get on

Check the size of the X...

Wouldnt mind a H50 just the price compared to the air cooled CPU coolers is it really worth the extra £20 or so pounds depending on which Air cooled one you get?

I got a second hand H50 and Noctua P12 for £50inc

The Venomous is £47 inc, but then you still need to buy a fan for it. Well, I imagine you would. So its say, £60 when you buy a half decent fan for it

£64 new for the H50 that comes with a fan

edit - I will tell you in a day or 2 if its worth it over air coolers
