Has Amd just went and done the unthinkable? Is Mantle going to become part of DirectX? What do them mean partnership?
Guess we find out soon. :p

In this session AMDs Dave Oldcorn, Frostbite technical Director Johan Andersson and Oxides Dan Baker will look at how new Direct3D advancements enhance efficiency and enable fully-threaded building of command buffers. They will demonstrate how AMD is using its recent experience in efficient graphics API design and its partnership with Microsoft to provide developers with the infrastructure to render next-generation graphics workloads at full performance. This presentation also discusses the best ways to exploit AMD hardware under heavy load and will invite developers to influence driver and hardware development.

AMD and Miscrosoft have worked together many times in the past, DX10, DX11, DX11.1, DX11.2 not to mention the XB1.

It doesn't make sense for MS to spend $100m's and years developing an API that competes with Mantle when all they have to do is do what they always have, work with AMD who already have what MS want.

Hard to say really,, AMD did state there wouldn't be a DX 12 but there will be
Wait an see what happens

A company never let's internal workings leak out through mainstream sources! DX12 could be real nice if mantle were integrated :D
