Hi
About 2 weeks ago i posted about my C2D 6600 not working, It posted but i could not install windows.
I sent it back to ocUK and the sent it back saying it was fine.
I then went on to buy new ram, mobo and psu to try and fix it but still it all pointed to the cpu that was faulty.
I got an rma directly from Intel and now 1 week later i have received a shiny new processor.
I phoned them to ask what the problem was and they told me that one of the cores had failed and thats why it would only post.

Its a relief to have finally got this fixed but if it had been tested properly the first time it would have saved me a lot of cash.

Wow!

If overclockers.co.uk had done their job properly you would have saved a lot of hassle and cash £££. :(

I think they owe you, Gibbo if your reading, sort this guy out!

Oops i feel this thread may dissapear like my last one did a fortnight ago.
Do overclockers have a customer services i can moan to rather than do it here as the only option i can see is technical support and they havent replied.

I guess overclockers only tested it to make sure it would POST not load windows etc..when most cpus are faulty the system wont POST but with these new dual core ones maybe things have changed.

make sure you send in a written complaint stating how you bought new stuff based on the fact that ocuk said the cpu was fine. and then how intel found it to be faulty.

I've never know anyone to receive a faulty CPU before.

i replaced 3200+ with 3800+ a few months ago and i RMAed it and they said the exact same thing, one core simply wasn't working, so i got 4600+ instead :) also had failure with my pentium 4 northwood :( was good processor too, RIP ol' northy

i`d write a complaint , a similar thing happened to me with some memory , OCUK said it wasnt faulty but crucial told me it was and replaced it for me, i was very annoyed and wrote to the MD
