Hello all.

I recently built a Skylake rig and im kinda getting sick of my memory which is 16GB Kingston Fury Black DDR4 2666MHz C15. I feel its not fast enough, and I cant get a decent overclock out of it either.

I've been eyeing up these https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team-group-xtreem-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-pc4-30000c18-3733mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-txd416g3733hc18ad-my-068-tg.html

I've got a Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5 board and according to memory compatibility it only supports memory up to 3466MHz. Should I take notice to this or will that TeamGroup memory work? Thanks.

That memory is working great but I had issues with anything above 3000mhz on Gigabytes Gaming G1 board. I have never tested the Gaming 5 but I honestly doubt it can run this Samaung IC memory high. Gigabyte much better with MFR.
For really high mems the best board is ASrock OC Formula or the up and coming ASrock MOCF which can do 4000mhz 12-12-12-28 1T.

^ It depends on your tasks.

For gaming not a big improvement unless its an old game where CPU and memory is the limiting factor. You are often better trying to push CPU higher and CPU cache higher first as this will yield much larger overall gains.

on Z170 Gigabyte is really not efficient with memory unless your tuning it a lot. I spent several days on and off getting a 32gb 3000mhz kit to give me the performance I was happy with in the G1 I mentioned earlier.

The board clocked CPU well though 4.9 XTU etc etc stable no problem om dual AIO cooler.
