How would I best connect my three monitors up with a new GPU?

Hi. Decided to post in here as I am not really asking about a specific GPU. Essentially, when AMD 480X comes out I will probably upgrade to that or perhaps a GTX 1060. That isn't the issue.

My question is about connectivity. I am currently running a three monitor extended desktop setup with my Radeon 5850 connecting to 2 via DVI and my IGP connected to the third via VGA.

How will I go about connecting all three with the new card?

Not being dense but the new cards are either HDMI or Display port and my monitors are DVI and VGA. So, I need adaptors but not sure whether I need passive or active DVI in the first instance and also whether I can run all three from the new card or whether I have to continue with the current setup of two on GPU (DVI) and 1 on IGP (VGA).

I assume with Display port (assuming cards comes with three) I could just get three adaptors. If so, would you please point me in the right direction.

In other words one of these https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-value-dvi-to-hdmi-video-adapter-dv-005-cb-029-ok.html

and two of these https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-value-displayport-to-dvi-adaptor-hdhdport-001-cb-086-ok.html for IGP and GPU? Or three DP to DVI and run everything via the GPU.

Thanks

Your best bet would be to wait a bit more for AIB's to make modified versions of the 480x that would suit your needs better.

I'm in the same boat as you, although I am going to get a freesync monitor at some point as well, but if you go for the reference design you will have to have a multitude of adapters to suit your specific needs.

It's also best to get the active adapters, as some graphics cards can not run multiple monitors with the passive adaptors, and more so if the card has multiple miniDP/DP ports.
