Asus m.2 adapter problems

I currently have a Samsung m.2 500gb drice, not the nvme obes, which was connected to a m.2 to sata adapter.

However I now have the problem that since I have swapped to a m.2 to pcie adapter, it no longer works and my bios does not detect it.

My motherboard is the Asus x99 deluxe 2 and I'm using the included pcie to m.2 adapter.

If its a sata based SSD then it won't work on a pcie interface im afraid.

Why not use the M.2 slot on the board?

I don't think that SATA based M.2 will work in that board (M.2 Slot) as it is keyed different.

Sounds like mSata, which is different.

There are ahci and NVMe based m.2 ssds and both fit the same slot.

In your bios, under Advanced/PCH Storage Configuration.

Enable "Hyper Kit Mode".

Think this needs to be enabled for use of the PCIE card or it defaults to the onboard M.2 slot.

Nah that's for the little PCB that goes from M.2 to U.2..
