I currently have an older

Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 (Socket 1155) motherboard

Which 8gb in dual configuration.

Could someone please advise me on increasing this to 16gb, would it be best to buy 2 x 8gb sticks or another 2 x 4gb sticks. What will give best performance.

Would be most grateful if someone could spec me some quality suitable memory.

Thanks

I don't know, though I should think it will make little if any difference.

If you haven't already, check out your thread in general hardware, as I linked some kits that are 2133mhz - which I think is the fastest officially supported ram for your motherboard.

Here's a couple of 1866mhz examples which are 2 x 8GB:

I've also just noticed some more 2133 memory (2 x 8GB sticks), which in comes in different colours: gold, orange and red.

No worries, I thought I'd better jump in as this sub forum tends to be pretty quiet, and on occasion I know what it can be like waiting for a reply. :)
