Wi-Fi Range Extender Solution?

Hi there,

I need internet access in a building 20m from the router (BT Homehub 4.0) in the house.

Initially I was using a Netgear Powerline, which worked fine until the router was changed to the present one.

I then tried a Netgear EX6200, which worked (sort of) until recently.

Many hours spent with tech support in regard to both units to no avail.

Any thoughts on the best product/method to provide internet access in a separate building are greatly appreciated.

Using your own Cat 5/5e/6 cable to an access point is the best option. Failing that, powerline, Failing that, WiFi extender.

An extender will give the worst performance by far in most conditions.

How much bandwidth do you need?

How much are you willing to spend?

Do you have direct line of sight?

Are you able to mount anything externally?
