90 degree rotaries are a really strange choice for fittings on the water blocks. Easier for them for the packing but could be a problem for fitting into a system. I would have thought that straight fittings would be much better.

As you cannot change the length of the tubing I assume it is so that you can direct the tubing the best way to avoid kinking. Also with the variety of cases this will allow customers to link it all up easily.

A bit like how this customer has done it:

I wouldn't want to pay all that money to end up with something that looks that terrible in my system. I can see who it's aimed at with everything just snapping together but that is just so ugly.

Yeah, that's my thoughts. Unless you need the full length of all the tubing it's going to get messy.

It's a nice idea and there's not really a nice way around the problem that I can think of.

But then I guess this isn't aimed at the real enthusiasts that might worry about that sort of thing as they'll probably do a full custom loop anyway. Probably more aimed at the people that are looking to become more adventurous and venture into watercooling but are more worried about functionality than aesthetics.

I'm still mostly at that stage myself with a little concern around aesthetics, but my laziness could convince me me to forget that.

(I hope this didn't come across as condescending or patronising as that wasn't my intent, I merely wanted to point out that different people are at different levels)

Indeed, I think the only place for this setup would be in a closed case, ie no window.

Then it'd probably look quite nice

Some people won't care what it looks like as they don't sit staring inside their case, especially if it's sat on the floor or under a desk.

Get the kits needed and some extra ZMT, pull it all apart, throw all the QDC's away and put it back together so it looks just right. Maybe it's not for the totally lazy, and they are a bit annoying to bleed but it's not impossible and you can build something pretty unique and compact relatively cheaply. Or you could just take customizing them way way too far...

Yes the price can change depending on the block you pick for the loop so we left it out.

If they could make the QDC's black it would look better. I don't think it looks terrible though.

well one of the big things you pay for is the warranty.. it's sold as a sealed unit right? so if there are any leaks then you can hold EKWB responsible and claim from them. I imagine there's no such possibility with a custom loop.

that'd be my thoughts too. spending 80 or 90 quid on an AIO, yea sure. but if I am going to spend upwards or in excess of 300 notes I might as well go the whole hog and do a custom loop (and this coming from someone who has never done watercooling)

If it leaks and destroys your motherboard or GPU, do they cover the cost of that though and reimburse you for a new one? I don't know that they do. I would also question how different that is to a fitting in a custom loop going faulty (which is very rare), as they also have a warranty. Furthermore, I hear about AIOs leaking WAYYYYYY more than I do custom loops. There's even been a spate of the Predators leaking lately, going by a thread over at overclock.net
