Hi all,

My work have several Lenovo Thinkpad T400s and X61 and since USB's were invented I've never seen them mashed like the manage too here!

Lenovos won't turn on if the USB bins are touching, and I get 2-3 a month with this issue. It's as though the plastic part in side is pulled out then they just ram a USB connector inside.

I have no idea what they are doing but it takes 10 mins to bend the pins free with a biro lid and then I safety tape over to stop it happening again.

I really need to replace them but A) how hard is it just to replace the USB on a mobo and B) where is the best place to get them from?

When I did the Lenovo Hardware Accreditation it showed they are fixed to the mb so it would be a replacement mb, not sure you can buy the ports separately to solder on.

Funnily enough the course wasn't forth coming with that information ;)
