I know it might sound a bit sick to do an SLI on something like this, as I have 120Hz BENQ monitor and it only can do 1920x1080 resolution.

I can run everything thrown at it with ease, will that be a waste of money If i won't go for a 4K monitor? I play Division and it some places it drops to 60fps for few seconds.I am looking at constant 120fps realy.

Kind of thinking about future in here as well if I ever choose to go for 4K.

gsync isnt all its cracked up to be.

ive got a 144Hz gysnc monitor @ 1080p and i'm contemplating getting another GPU to keep the minimum framerate up for the future.

going from 100 fps to 55 fps in a game is very noticeable and distracting, even with a gysnc monitor.

I run overclocked 980ti sli and a 1080p 120hz screen, even with my cards both overclocked i still drop below 100fps in some games with everything turned up. (Doom for example)

Anyone who says they get 100 fps + constant (at ultra settngs) with anything less is either lying or my system is broken (current number 1 in firestrike 4k leaderboard)

It depends if you like eye candy and high fps.

Doom seems to have some odd performance issues mind - my 780 doesn't really drop below 60fps at 1080p ultra but totally and utterly falls apart at 1440p whether low through to ultra (so not a VRAM issue), while the 970 handles 1440p fine but doesn't run 1080p as quickly as the 780 (though both handle 1080p fine).

I've also seen a wide range of reported performance/playability from people using the same model of a GPU.

Made my post whilst in a bit of a rage last night. Doom was probably a bad example as i find it actually runs better on one card than with sli enabled, i think its down to poor sli support as i dont think im cpu bound altho i will check this later.

My point still stands tho regarding 980ti sli not being a waste, sometimes you need the grunt or pure brute force to acheive high fps with ultra settings at high refresh rates, Depends what you want. Plenty of people on the forum are happy with 60hz/60fps @ 4k whereas id never give up a higher refresh rate, sub 80hz gives me eyestrain.

A Single 980 Ti will TEAR UP 1080p, don't bother.

If you want to spend money, sure SLI 980 Ti, but please at least get a high refresh rate 1440p monitior, the quality difference is vast.

4K is not there yet IMO as I would prefer to game at 4k over 90FPS or something.
