Internet: Linux Mint (Mate) random, but rare disconnects... Instant reconntect?

My claim to fame... :D
Rather than posting this can't you instead inform us of:

  • Kernel version (uname -r)
  • Network interface type and model (you haven't even mentioned whether this is wireless or wired)
  • Driver version for aforementioned adaptor
  • What exactly happens when the disconnect occurs (does the device vanish or is it just a Wi-Fi disconnect but the adaptor is otherwise all good)?
Do a site survey on both the router and desktop side to determine whether noisy channels are an issue.

Wired, Ethernet...
Kernel 3.19.0-32-generic...

Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06)

It discoes then reconnects... (no errors or anything)
