So my dad has a dell xps (don't know the exact model) and since installing W10 it has adopted some strange behaviour and the battery is dying. My dear mother has suggested a replacement but I'm of the opinion reverting back to W7 and a new battery will suffice, particularly since it's use is less than strenuous and it recently had a Samsung SSD fitted.
With that being said and as a contingency what is out there for sub £800, it must be 17" as well otherwise he won't be able to make much out on the screen.
Is the tried and tested rule of bigger numbers equals better machine or are they much of a muchness at the low end.
Usage is web browsing and the simplest of simple photo editing so no 4K gaming requirements.
Thoughts are most welcome.
