Got to say I'm very tempted, other than marginally smaller battery, pretty much everything else has been upgraded and 365 subscription is amazing. Skype on it's own has to be worth shed loads.

With those specs, they're going to have to give the rest of the range a massive bump in specs.

Given the XL I'm interested to see what the replacement will be for my 1520 at the higher end

It'll have to be epic to justify 3x the price. The 640xl isn't missing much 1080p screen, OIS on camera, wireless charging, high end CPU.

Although it won't be for a while. MS confirmed no high end phones till w10 release, and 1520 is unlikely to get a replacement. As they seem to be doing a name change.
So no new 1320/1520
1320 is replaced with 640XL so we can assume 1520 will be replaced with 940 xl.

They are also getting rid of all the xx5 series, and just calling them dual sim if they have it.

Which simplifies the naming convention no end.

to be honest i don' really need anything more from the 1520 in terms of performance (I will obviously want the 940xl for no particular reason though! )

Looks good. If Windows 10 and the 'universal apps' thing works out then I may be tempted to go back to Windows Phone at some point in the future.

going to be swapping my month old 535 for a 3g 640xl.

Just for the extra camera specs and the extra screen res, apart from that ive found the 535 great for its price.

640 is now available for pre order from Microsoft store, for £169.99 only in orange & black atom.
No sign of xl yet.

Nice releases from MS, and i'm excited to see what the 940XL will bring, but not sure if I can hold out that long to buy a phone? Decisions decisions?

I've used the Lumia 930 and 800.

It's a thread in the mobile forum. Of course AlecR feels he needs to 'contribute'.

He's even used a couple of windows phones don't you know.

I love the WP UI, I just cannot use it due to the, let's be honest, sub-par app selection.

If it got the Google apps, I'd be all over it.

Then go ask Google why they are so scared to let even Youtube have an official app on WP.

Why do I feel like the WP community on this forum hates me

to be honest I was a little worried about lack of apps on WP but since getting my 535 and putting down Android I am liking it.

it is actually quite refreshing not having 1000's on non essential apps... as I don't find myself wasting time staring into a phone anyone checking every notification. im just glad my phone is just a phone again now with a good camera.

looks nice with a good price, might be my first windows phone

Mobilefun have it listed at £180 or amazon germany at €219 (~£160).. think i'll wait to see what carphonewarehouse prices are first..
