Hi guys, a friend of mine is currently using a 5960x with 1 980ti, both are overclocked and he uses a Corsair HX850 power supply.
He is buying a 2nd 980ti from a friend cheap and is unsure if the HX850 will be enough to run them both along with his overclocks, I am pretty sure its enough but can a few people confirm this please so I can warn him.

Thanks.

The HX850 is a decent PSU. It should cope with a 5960X and 2 980Tis but if they're all OC'd, I'd be looking at a 1000W PSU to be safe. The 850W may be enough, but it could be on the limit.

i have 2 x gtx 980s, a x99 5930k cpu. all heavily overclocked and watercooling gear too and my PSU max draw using furmark and prime at the same time is only 631w and ive used a plug meter tester to check it too.

Should be fine in my opinion/

I have been scouring reviews for total system power draw requirement with various cards and I found 7 reviews for 980ti SLI. All came in between 543-656w at the wall. All systems had a overclock on the cpu but I don't believe that any used a 5960x.
