Again this is basically parroting the results shown on XS forum, but its pretty relevant to everyone here. Obviously not my system (wish it was).. all credit goes to "FUGGER".

I'll cut to the chase:

Spec:
Mobo: Intel 975XBX (Revision 304)
CPU: Intel Conroe 2.4Ghz (Vcore 1.50v, done in BIOS no voltmods)
Cooling: Astek Vapochill LS modded
Memory: 4GB OCZ PC8000 @ SPD 1:1 or 2GB Super Talent @ SPD 1:1
GFX: X1900XTX Crossfire

It is good by looking at the cpu score on 3dmark 06 id expect more. My 165 gets just over 2k and its only at 2.6ghz also my super pi time is more than double

the pi scores on conroe are fast due to the cache iirc (obviosly not just the cache)

Intel will have been making plenty of money from the OEM market (Dell etc) so they didnt really need to innovate. Obviously they finally decided they wanted the enthusiast market back too....which it looks like they will get. I know ill be buying one

nah not relevant at all. it's just one of the chosen few, vapo'ing a pre-release cherry chip in search of WR's. now, if he was thrashing a retail chip that'd be relevant, very relevant, anything else is just hype/PR generation on behalf of the manufacturers.

personaly i'm just gonna wait till i can get my own sticky mits on a retail chip before i salute Conroe as being the next best thing since sliced bread. until then i think both my much loved Northy & Opty are safe. ( for the time being
