VW Golf GTi W12

Didnt see this posted, so here.

- VW claims a top speed of 202 mph
- 6.0l W12 12-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine mounted in the back seat of the GTI
- 650hp and 553 lb-ft. of torque (!)
- with the flared fenders the car sits over 6 feet wide and only 4.6 feet tall
- 19" wheels with 295 rear rubber and 235 front rubber
- the fenders are flared 3.15" at the rear

Id swap my car towards that in a heart beat. however, i doubt that would even equate to a 10% deposit.

Is that the same engine as the veyron with just 2 less turbos?

no i think the veyron is a w16 isnt it? twin v8's. this is v12.

Ahh so its a chopped off veyron or an r64

uhh, dont think so im sure this engine has been around a while? anyone back that up? im sure there was a w12 passat ages ago.

edit: no, its the phaeton which is w12, the passat is w8.

was the phaeton out before the veyron ?

I fully appreciate the power of it - and certain parts look ok.

But overall am i the only one who thinks it looks ugly?

I rather like that. It looks extreme because it will be a very unique car and should stand out.

(Yes I know they're standard but VW dropped a ball with those. Whoever designed them want's shooting).

Really reminds of the Clio V6's. Looks pretty good, but weird from certain angles like the first pic, the rear arch just looks too disconected from the rest of the body.

Wouldn't mind a go tho

It looks brilliant and whats more is all the crazy arches and vents are there to do something thus making it not chavvy
