Going to look at a Sony GDM-FW900 CRT need advice ?

Going to look at a used Sony GDM-FW900 24" CRT tomorrow.

It's obviously an old monitor but I can get it pretty cheap.

Need some advice what to test or check for ? :confused:

Probably worn out, although they were great old used CRT's aren't. oh those Sony CRT's are like to miles deep and chuck out insane amounts of heat, and use lots of power.

24" CRT isn't 24" either, viewable is probably 22".

Worn out my bum. My 9 year old G400 is still working perfectly. It's a bit big, but I've seen nothing that can match the image quality.

CRT's do wear, they dim over time.

Too much disease out there :-)

Been through quite a lot of LCD's sent them all back or sold them off :cool:

I know CRT dim over time. But how to check that properly ?

You'll need some light measuring equipment, test contrast then compare that to a brand new FW900.

I know that would be ideal but impossible
