As title, I am after some help as I haven't been able to get this to work on my new system:

P5Q-E
E8400
4GB Corsair XMS
Corsair HX 620W

There are two LAN ports on this board, apparently one PCI and one PCI-E. I have tried using both (MAC addresses used are definitely correct). I can verify the magic packet is definitely reaching the machine so it is not a routing issue. I have enabled power on by PCI and PCI-E in the BIOS, there is also a setting called 'Energy Star 4.0c' which apparently can affect Wake-on-Lan, I have tried with this on and off.

I contacted ASUS support, all I got back was advice to check my PSU could supply the required power, which it can. From previous experience most boards I have tried in the past will wake-on-lan out of the box.

Does anyone else have this working on the P5Q-E? or any of the P5Q boards?

Just in case anyone is interested, I sorted this one. I had never realised that WOL was anything other than a hardware thing, seeing as it happens outside of windows I didn't know that I had to enable WOL in the driver, which causes windows to leave the NIC in an active state when it closes down.

In conclusion, it works fine if you know what you are doing :)

Yes I had this with the Realtek 8111B, also they released a buggy driver when the WOL was not turned on in the windows briver after a reboot the PXE boot would not work.
