Hi all,

My good friend Mortster posted a similar set of benchmarks awhile back after he upgraded from a BFG 8800GTX OC to a ATI HD4870. (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17894022&highlight=8800gtx)

Well he has kindly lent me his BFG 8800GTX OC with a view to purchasing  so I decided to compare it against my current WinFast 7900GT. While I was contemplating this my brother-in-laws replacement XFX 9500GT arrived so thought I would add that in as I was interested in the results of the 9 series.

So after a couple of pints, Mortster handed over the BFG and here are the results of my hours of testing :D

My rig is as follows

E6300 @ 2.8GHz
2Gb OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel
ASUS P5N-E SLI
Enermax Noisetaker 600W

Windows XP SP3 32 bit

1. Leadtek WinFast 7900GT 256MB DDR3 with Forceware 175.19
2. XFX 9500GT 256MB DDR3 with Forceware 175.19
3. BFG 8800GTX OC 768MB DDR3 with Forceware 175.19

Here are the results:

Changed this one when I noticed I had inserted the Max FPS into the AVG FPS column.... oops :)

Thanks for the testing, its interesting to see how relatively high graphics have come on in a few years, when you consider that a 1GB 4870 is faster than that 8800 by roughly 30% and costs the same as a 7900GT did a few years back!

Those crysis results for the GTX look a little high.... A stock GTX280 gets a little over 40fps average @ 16x10
