Conclusion
If you are choosing between the two, I'd strongly go toward the 260. Despite it's name being the lesser of the two, it clearly excels in this comparison.

try a 6200 v that crappy old 260 ffs wtfbbq etc etc

My 8800GT ran FC2 very nicely! Not top settings but I got a good 30-40 FPS. But yeah, I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't have questioned who this winner would have been.

Now crack open the s3 virge!

Got a Voodoo 2 here if you fancy trying that lol
