Car tax - tax disc not arrived

Hello Folks,

Had to renew the car tax for the beginning of the month, I did it online. I haven't yet received the tax disc though. I have phoned the DVLA and they're sending another one out, I'm off to Wales tonight though, so my question is will that be ok? I have a printed receipt proving I've paid the tax, but I wasn't sure if the severn bridge toll booths had those cameras that spot tax discs etc.

Waddya reckon?

Despite the fact that it is not displaying a tax disc that is a punishable offence, usually if its in the post you're ok.

I presume that's because it checks against the DVLA database.

Correct.

I'd drive, displaying my old tax disc and have all the reciepts and proof possible that I've paid for the new one.

What are the chances of someone noticing. I don't know about you but on my daily walk round down I don't check tax discs, niether would a passing copper unless there was any warning signs (flagged up on ANPR, parked illigally, crash damage etc....).

Going to a small festival called Croissant Neuf, should be fun, nice and chilled out
