Accelero Xtreme planned for Radeon HD 5970?

Does anyone know if Arctic Cooling are planning a Accelero Xtreme for the Radeon HD 5970 like the did with the 4870X2 at all?

I'd rather go down this route (or a Thermalright solution) rather than watercooling.

The noise of the reference fan is driving me crazy! lol

I'm assuming not at the moment so I sent them an email to see if I hear any word from the horse's mouth; I'll post any reply that I get:

I am enjoying my 5970 very much but finding it is running rather noisy under load!

The only alternative (which I'm not keen on) seems to be watercooling currently.

Indeed...I think it's going to be pretty massive; I read that it'll be a triple slot designed cooler!

I guess it needs to be to beat the 400w stock cooler...

Looks brilliant...just what I was waiting for!

I have been loyally waiting for a high-end cooling solution prior to overclocking my 5970 for months.

Almost feels like patiently waiting to get married before jumping into bed with a girl (not that I followed that advice! )

If it's as good as the 4870x2 variant it'll be awesome. Will make the card huge though - my x2 one added nearly an inch to the stock card....

Gawd. Looks like they strapped three CPU coolers to the card.

Are the PCIe slot and the screw brackets really supposed to take that kind of weight?

I used to take mine out before moving the case any distance - it was bloomin heavy but as long as the brackets were screwed in tight it didn't seem to be an issue on the board.

May's too long for me to wait, final decision made to watercool the 5970, I can do that now and have silence back again!

if you have the option of wc it's a no brainer, just! For anyone who hasn't used one the accelero has proved an excellent cooler - quiet and efficient it's just mahoosive and heavy!

Yeah agreed Capriboy, I had one on a 8800GTX and think its a good solution, its just the noise of my 5970 is irritating as it has the fan rattle.

cost is really the only factor for me - if you have a loop that will either take this or need fettling to take this go with the wc option - if not wait it out. If your fan dies in the meantime you've only to wait on a new card from rma.
