HP 'new' ZR24w

I am reuturning my 24" Samsung 2443 due to the annoying high pitched noise it emits + various other annoyances.

Now, i am aware there is no release date for the UK, but does anyone know how long it takes to be availble in UK when the release date is FEB in U.S?
Do we get it on the same month or months later?
 
In terms of spec, that looks like a superb monitor, the G2G response time is only 5ms which is exceptional for an IPS panel.

Of course the price might be prohibitive and we shouldn't trust the stated specifications until someone verifies them!

Obviously factor in "You're British so you're getting screwed" price increase to your guesstimates.

A quick summary of the apparent specifications;
  • Panel: S-IPS Panel - Supposedly a new H2-IPS variant which improves energy efficiency (178°h,178°v)
  • Resolution: 1920x1200@60Hz
  • Response Time: 5ms G2G (supposedly)
  • Inputs: DisplayPort, DVI-D, VGA connectors with HDCP on digital inputs
  • Brightness/Contrast: 1000:1 static (3K:1 dynamic); 400 (cd/m2) - note there is no mention of LED back-lighting therefore it is probably safe to assume that it utilises standard CCFL technology
  • Other: Stand Rotation, Swivel, Height adjust etc. Seems to be a 3 year warranty (in USA at least - whether this translates to the same here is something we'll have to wait to discover)

Well, this screen does indeed sound very interesting.

I`ll be looking for high quality 24" screen in some months time and hoping by then there will be a good screen out that has a low input lag, good response time that's perfect for gaming and Blu-Ray movie viewing.

One thing for sure, I won`t be buying a dell screen as it seems their screens have to many problems with them going by the threads on this site.
