I have noticed loads sold in the last couple of months on MM and and Ebay. They are not that old and aren't cheap new.

Also, people are struggling to get half price for them.

I am seriously thinking about buying one and selling my Silverstone TJ-09 as I fancy the extra space but don;t want to if there are good reasons why everybody is dumping them?

If the 800D is out of flavour, what is the recommended large (tower) case which fits at least a triple rad without modding (apart from the old favourite of the TJ-07 of course)

I find it strange to. I just picked one up half price from the mm and the lad only lives 5 mile from me. Awesome. It just seems they have gone out of fashion a bit cos everyone seems to have one. On the other hand its a cracking case. Ive bought mine for a modding project and im almost done.

A victim of its own success?

How? If succesful people would be keeping them and tbh their 2nd hand value is shocking.

Swapping your case is a major job and I tend to keep my cases much longer than the bits inside.

But say 10 people have sold their 800D on here in the last month, what I want to know is why and what case have they bought to replace it which is better.

After all it;s painful to take a £100 hit on something you have owned for a few weeks.

Recently sold mine.

It is a good case, really easy to work in, big and has lots of nice features, but for me it comes down to the looks, i find it rather plain, much prefer my tj07 or lian li pc-343b.

Price on the mm has been lowered because of the number on sale, plus most of them have been pick up only which obviously reduced how many people will be interested.

Heard the cooling isn't up to much in the 800D, possibly due to the crap stock fans? Personally I like the 800D and TJ-07 but like has been already said, they are a bit common.

I replaced all the fans in mine & fitted 3 x 120mm roof fans & aircooling wise it's beaten by a little Lian-Li PC-P50R.

Greebo, an FT02 is good too, but I think most are selling 800Ds due to downsizing, changing their minds about watercooling and the fact that they are uber common now.

Having said that, there aren't hundreds of TJ07s for sale, which suffered the same fate to a degree.

I was really into the look of the 700D/800D until I saw the 600T, then I completely changed my mind. I'd imagine the same is true of a lot of people. That and the size is a bit excessive.

It just looks too plain IMO. The TJ07 has the swooshy line and the single piece for the top, front and bottom. The Haf X looks like a tank (and fantastic), the V2000 all looks pretty unique, it's made of mesh.

The 800d isn't really remarkable in any way, it's just another good case.

Even the Antec 300 has that overlapped front thing and the full mesh front. Probably better air cooling than the 800D too. :p
