Has anyone had any issues trying to install the latest Intel RST drivers on an Asus P6X58D-E Motherboard?

I have mine set to A.H.C.I mode with 2 Samsung F3 HD103SJ's on Windows 7x64.

I can load the drivers but it fails to boot into windows after install on reboot. Tried using iata_cd.exe first then iata_enu.exe and then just the bare F6 Drivers.

The inf file appears to support the device id that is on the Motherboard.

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3A22&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) ICH10R SATA AHCI Controller"

Have not tried in raid mode, as I would have to back up all the data first.

Did this install of Windows previously have IDE drivers installed? If so you need to do the switch.

If not, not sure, I have that board with 2 drives in AHCI and it installed fine...

Did a fresh install of Win 7x64 using windows drivers for install in AHCI mode, then ran Intels inf drivers which updated again to v 7.0.0.1013.

New RST drivers were then installed and the system appears to run ok if I delay reboot, then fails to boot into windows after reboot.

Did you install rst drivers over windows drivers?
Did you download Intel RST v 10.1.0.1008 from intels website?
Are you running 0405 Bios?
Are you running Win7x64?

I have just tried to do a fresh install on the 2nd hard drive installing v 10.1.0.1008 at F6 and it still fails to boot into windows, starting to think if there is an issue with the ICH10 controller on the Motherboard.

I know other users on the Asus forum are having issues as well, just trying to isolate the problem?

Hmm, I installed over the Windows drivers and it was ok? (I think)

Not sure...

Mate, we need more info from you. You are apparently the only person which can run Win7 64bit with IRST 10.1.0.1008 on the P6X58D-E.

Soon as I restart, it will stop on the windows loading screen, forever, with no HDD (SSD) activity.

Please check in your IRST and see what your OptionROM and Driver versions are. Like the screenshot above. If you could post your screenshot in this thread, it would really help. tx

During the install of Win 7, you don't need to press F6 to install (ICHxR) drivers, if the ICH10R is set to either AHCI or RAID the correct drivers will be installed automatically, then after install simply install latest Intel drivers, which in this case are v10.1.0.1008...

Installed these drivers a few days ago over v9.6.0.1014 and all was fine on my P6X58D-E...

Does not make much sense why some boards will install and reboot and others will not.

Are you running 7x64 or 7x86?
Are you on 0405 Bios?
What is your system setup?
Either the boards that will not install are faulty or there is a conflict somewhere preventing the system to boot.

Can you please post the screenshot of IRST. Like mine, thanks!

I think it may have something to do with Samsung F3 drives.

Solution:

Move DVD burner from Intel to the marvell controller.

It seems that Pioneer DVD burners have issues with the intel chipset and IRST 10.1.0.1008.

Windows now boots fine! yay!

OMG thanks for that.
I have a GA-P55-UD5 and was starting to go nuts after downloading the drivers from theyer site and it stopping windows loading.
Do you know if there is updated drvers of firmware that fix this?
