i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed
hi
i payed for dead space 2 today. installed it and ran the game. went to settings, controls , to custom them, and guess what!!! theres no way to have the walk forward on a mouse button... it makes me so mad that game companys don't make they games fully custom controls.... if they can have the fire assigned to a mouse button, surely they could of assigned the other actions to a mouse button... so now i can't play this game and i wasted £25.. *Details Update* (keeping things in the original post so it is easier to find) Picture: ![]() Video 1: Video 2: Video 3: EA Thread: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/4761444.page Please sign the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...ned.cgi?cu5t0m Quote:

Why do you need to walk using the mouse button? Surely you can use an alternative albiet not your first choice.

How the hell you play a game like Dead Space with your head?!?!?!
As suggested though, there are other ways to map keys other than using the in game setup. |

Mouse 2 forward guy here also (for nearly 20 years now) - yeah it sucks, DS1 was even worse. I'm using the keys but getting owned hard. Not a good experience when you need to be able to react fast. Sloppy, very sloppy. Especially as they promised to 'fix' it after getting bad press for DS1.

maybe you could invest on a mouse that you can customize all its buttons?

Sorry if this comes across as rude, but is this for real?
If it is, you sir, are a skilled and inspirational man. |

After researching for a gazillion years the best solution seemed to be using 'Glovepie' which I downloaded but just couldn't figure it out. That was for DS1. For DS2 I'm trying to 'stick with it' but not enjoying it. To anyone who doesn't understand, fire up an FPS that does allow mouse 2 for 'forward' and see how it feels. Bet you wouldn't want to play a whole game like that

forgive my suspicious nature as I'm not 100% convinced this is serious.
on the chance that it is, if you used your chin to move forward etc, how would you do everything else such as toggle aim, reload etc. - same goes for driving, braking, handbrake, etc. |

I'm not asking you to prove yourself - but you have to accept that it's not every day someone says they play video games with their head. I ask because I can't think of how one would do so many things at once with their chin?

I used to use mouse 2 for forward all the time in FPS games, much to the ridicule of fellow gamers. I remember trying to switch to the standard AWSD config but couldn't get the hang of it. I remember being forced to change by a game and never looked back. Mouse 2 forward seems a bit strange now.
Obviously no help to OP, it does seems stupid that they wouldn't give you full customisation. |
