Asus P8P67 Basic Freeze Problem

hey got this board the other day, and having a problem where the keyboard and mouse freeze and a loud sound comes out of the speakers.

i have the newer B3 version with bios version 1301.

Hardware

Intel i5 2300 2.8GHz
8GB Corsair XMS3 Ram
Asus P8P67 Basic Motherboard.

any help you give me

Bios should be 1305 on B3 mobo i fought

I think 1401 is the latest bios try an update if it dont help send it back and get a another make of board that dont have all the asus problems.

hey, tried installing the latest bios 1401, cant install it

comes up with the error "selected file is not a EFI Bios"

tried in windows and also from with in the bios (ez-flash)

Best help I can give you is to suggest you send it back and get an MSI.

ok quick update, just installed the lastest 1401 bios (error before was due to me not using a fat32 format usb drive xD) so lets see how it goes....

ASUS P8P67 RANDOM FREEZES RESOLVED!

I have been having problems with random freezes on my system for several months now: Asus P8P67 Deluxe MB, Corsair XMS3 (2x4GB) CMX8GX3M2A1600C9, Intel Core i7-2600K, Windows 7 64 bit. I recently updated the motherboard BIOS to version 1702, no change. Then adjusted memory speed in the BIOS down from 1600 to 1333MHz (which never worked in the old bios). System now seems completely stable - no freezes for a week. Interestingly CPU temps are also down by around 25 degrees (from high 50's to low 30's)!! Definitely a much happier box ...
