Pre-order? AMD are still bringing out new Phenom II processors?

i'd buy one if i hadnt just bought an 840 :p

The 840 is already pointless - a more expensive model is even more pointless. Just get a 955BE - it's a real Phenom II (with L3 cache), unlike the 8xx CPUs.

its not new, just a 840 with the multiplier bumped up (which incidentally is just a 645 with the multiplier bumped up, which is just a 640 etc. etc...)

0.7GHz overclock isn't great, let alone phenomenal. That's if it can hit 4.0GHz!

Any info to prove this statement?

Besides, the Phenom II 955BE can be had for the same price - most overclock to 4.2 (I've seen a few at 4.6GHz, one forumite has 4.5Ghz) minimum it makes this cpu every bit of a farce.
