I just bought one of these:

Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback clutch edition.

I got a really good deal on it as I got it for 46 Euro including delivery.

It's only failing is it is a sequential shift instead of H gate

Now I am looking for games with clutch support.

I have GPL but it has been like 10 years since I took part in the GPL online tourney here and my skills are lacking now ;) and it really does not have proper support you need it to start off but then you can shift without it.

Thanks but that's pay to play and I can't afford subscriptions to games I would rather just buy them outright and be done with it.

rFactor has the clutch either engaged or not. I found it slightly :( but I don't actually know of any other games with a clutch - and weather the other games have anything other than engaged or not.

just did the trial of rfactor and i was not overly impressed.

it seemed a rather twitchy and will take some major tweaking to get this sensitivities on this wheel correct since the only wheels it recognizes by default are logitech wheels.

but it's on the list for when my skills improve.

I would have gone for a g25 buy they cost like 4 times what i paid for this lol

Not for me, works progressively here.

I might be wrong, but I remember in rFactor even when you set the game to manual clutch, you can still shift up and down without it?

Damn, I really want to play it now but theres so many mods I need, and the game isn't even installed on the pc.

Thats why I switched to iRacing.

OP, try this as another alternative

LFS still has a strong community, and frankly feels more real than anything else. SimBim games and rFactor are way too "detached" - it's very hard to describe.

Demo is the full game limited to one track and 3 of the cars. Full game is only £24.

See you on the cargame.nl servers :p

I've never played LFS TBH. I started on rFactor, Then tried GTR Evo. I gave netKar a go. (Great Sim. Well worth a try) Now I'm on iRacing. You wont find anything better TBH.

I can personally recommend rFactor. Some of the mods and tracks are superb. It can be a bit tedious with the mods. Constantly having to download and update etc etc. Before you know it you have 30gigs worth of game files.

I suppose the best advise would be try demo's of all the games already mentioned.

In which case I didn't set it up right. Did it work like that out of the box? Using a G25. Or whatever the good Logitech one is. (It is flatmate's, not mine).

Yep :p

Also, netKar is amazing although the servers are pretty unpopulated. The physics are better than iRacings and it's cheaper, but no real cars (except Fiat 500/Singtel F1/That funny hillclimb thing (all available as free promo games :p) and very few real tracks.

I'll give it another go when I'm back in the flat. :) Can one stall the cars? I really want to stall a car in a game.

IIRC Richard Burns Rally used the clutch.

it did and you could stall out with it.

But it is a stupidly hard game to play lol.

I just tried the demo of LFS and it seems decent and tricky just a shame thier idea of a clutch like most other games is optional
