Games that you really looked forward to!

What games in your past gave you that pre excitable buzz, the type that would make a person stand outside a shop just to get the first copy!.

The first games that came to mind would be these

I remember buying all the mags with previews and reviews and putting that pre order and being in the store as soon as it opened.

Talking of Mags though, I just dont seem to find any decent ones about anymore. Mind you, I dont think I've seen any decent ones since Crash. Loved Crash, still got about 70 Crash mags in my attic, funny to look through them from time to time

The Thing

I must have been the only person in my local town to be excited about it. I was outside the shop and had to wait for them to unpack there delivery before i could buy it and run home. I still maintain its a great game too.

Quake 4 - went to Tesco at midnight to get it. And it sucked.

World of Warcraft WOTLK - midnight job again, loved it

I don't stand outside shops waiting for a copy of anything. To do so is sad/pathetic/tragic. I know of people that do and they are indeed those things.

Gran Turismo, all of em right up the PS2, never bought a PS3 or wanted to play GT on PS3 as got into iRacing anf rFactor.

Bit harsh?, They have fun... They don't harm anyone or themselves and money is spent.

Frontier.

Elite2.... Man o' man, couldn't wait to throw my money at it. They'd done all the reviews in the amiga mags before it came out, just sooooo much more in the game, and after the looong wait.

Not everybodys game in the end, but me and it were solid for a good year.

Mass Effect 2 for me. I phoned the shop that i had it preordered with to see if they had it in and as soon as they did i went to get it. That's about as enthusiastic as i have ever got about a game.

I was probably just as psyched about Metal Gear Solid 2 and FF8 actually.
