To be honest it doeasnt seem to bad when the CPU's overclocked and the other CPU's arent, lol Guru3D what was you thinking xD guru made it look half decent but then i converter the 244euros to GBP and realised it was £212... so its likely to be going for around £200 in the UK,

It's a shame :/ i feel ssorry for AMD considering all the time effort and money they've put in but in the end its their fault not the consumers, so dont try sell us overpriced paper weights :D lol

Glad I went for a 2500K, had a feeling this was coming, AMD were way too quiet before launch... Shame for competition though, expect high Intel prices and slower development. They may go the other route and try and kill off the consumer side of things for AMD entirely but I'm not sure how big of a market that is compared with the server side?

Does this look to anyone else like a chip designed with server software in mind that has been rolled out to the man in the street?

To say this is dissapointing would be a massive understatement.
I last used an AMD part in the form of an OPTY 175 and was looking forward to coming back from the Dark Side on this release. How, after all this time and all the delays, could AMD have got this so so wrong.
In the past AMD have played on price v performance and the fact that OEM's look at that more than anything. In Bulldozer's case, even OEM's are going to have to say "No Thank's". As for the rest of us...........................well, my money will stay with Intel.....................i guess the rest of this thread will prove that most of you are as well.

i5 2500k is indeed appearing to be the best performance for value cpu we have seen for the entire year

Edit: i5 2500K is indeed what Q6600 was few years ago. i5 2500K is the new Q6600 of this era

Wow...it is even slower then the last gen i5/i7....fanboys aside, who on earth's gonna get these over 2500K at £50-£60 higher in price?

And the power-consumption is crazy when overclocked! The FX8150 overclocking from 3.6GHz to 4.6GHz consume extra 200W ish and 4.8GHz consume extra 300W ish, and is STILL slower than a stock speed i5 2500K in Arma II...by a huge margin as well.

And the Phenom II X6 1100T BE overclocked to 4.2GHz pretty much matches the performance of the FX8150 at 4.8GHz...so even for AMD fanboy, they have to be crazy to take FX8150 over something like the Phenom II X6 1100T BE right?

5 years ago amd tried to predict the future, they got it wrong.

Ahead of there time or sticker I can't tell you, but one thing I can say is this is a nail in amd coffin and the only ones that lose out are us.
