Maximus Gene V troubleshooting

Issue is that I have no image output via graphics card, POST or otherwise.

All I have connected is PSU, motherboard, cpu, memory and gpu.

Without graphics card I can get to POST using IGP's hdmi connection.

Have tried two graphics cards, hd6970 and 8600gt in both pcie slots. Both using DVI and also HDMI for 6970.

Debug lights are solid for VGA and Boot device only.

Any ideas?

So with GPU in you're connecting the monitor to the GFX card? And seeing nothing?

Not just a blank screen. The screen is not receiving a signal at all.

edit:

windows 7 pro now installed via IGP.

Still can't get it to output via 8600gt or hd6970 using hdmi, dvi, or vga using dvi adaptor.

Boot device debug led has gone and I have the VGA debug led solidly on, with graphics card in.

it is running a very old bios (402), will try 701 now. (edit: didn't fix problem)

try a diffirent output on the monitor or tv or your ram is knackered thats what mine used to do and replaced ram and it worked

yep one of the first things i did was try a different monitor, before trying the igp.

rma time i think, that was a waste of a few hours

Was a motherboard bios issue. Beta bios fixed problem.
