Asus VG248QE

Go for the BenQ it's cheaper and does exactly the same job. You're more likely to have worse backlight bleed with the asus as well.

It depends how much you like (or dislike) inverse ghosting. The ASUS has better configured overdrive than the BenQ and gives the user more control over it. The BenQ has more noticeable inverse ghosting (as demonstrated on my review at pcmonitors.info) but many users don't mind or even notice this.

The ASUS doesn't necessarily suffer worse backlight bleed than the BenQ (certainly it hasn't been out long enough to judge this properly) but it does generally seem to have some uniformity issues such as clouding. This isn't as obtrusive or noticeable as 'bleed' as it is a sort of light grey rather than blue.

Colours are not great on either but better on the BenQ if you just fiddle with a few OSD settings. I'm reviewing the VG248QE in a similar way to the XL2411T at the moment and will be drawing a full comparison shortly after the ASUS review is published. It sort of seems that the ASUS is a nice buy if you live in the US (where the XL2411T isn't available and the VG248QE costs $280) but in the UK the XL2411T seems the better proposition. Unless you are sensitive to even relatively minor inverse ghosting.
