When I first looked into this the H120 was just out and a lot of people were complaining about the iffy corsair software on the H100i, especially as it could not control Corsairs aftermarket SP120 fans at the time. Plus the pump issues, people bricking their H100i's with firmware updates, leds going out etc.. However in the months that passed I have seen almost no complaints about the H120 ?

So which should I get for an matx build inside a Corsair 350D ?

Ideally I would like to run 2 SP120 pwm quiet edition fans in front, 1 in rear, and a pair on a H100i, and control the cpu fans and front intakes via the H100i / Corsair software. I assume all the bugs have been ironed out and the software and unit itself is now reliable. If not, I might go for the H120.

Incidentally are the Corsair cooling modules reliable. As I have an 860i PSU, and would have a 3rd SP120 pwm fan (rear), I could hook these up to one of these modules.

I have an H80i, and it didn't work correctly at all at first and was so loud I nearly threw it away. But after I updated the firmware it works perfectly. Getting amazing temps and it's pretty much silent.

I guess newer H80i/H100i units will already have this firmware installed.

The software used to thrash the disk drive constantly for logging purposes, not sure if it still does but you only need to install it to set the fan speed mode, then it can be disabled from running at boot. The pump will remember the settings.

Flanno - Most of the bugs we have seen in the past month or so, has already been addressed and corrected with the newer version of the Software and firmware for Corsair Link. If you have an I series cooler and PSU, then it'd only make sense for you to take advantage of the Corsair Link features.

This was the case back then when Corsair Link was using Sierra as an engine. Corsair Link is now using Hardware monitor, it does not ping the drive constantly anymore.

That's good to hear, I assumed it would be fixed anyway. Going to re-enable it now!

Thanks Greybeard.

So does this mean when using a H100i and the Corsair link software I can run any combination of corsair fans - 3 or 4pin. I am now considering 2 AF120 or SP120PWM low noise as front intakes on 350D, and 2 SP 120PWM high pressure as exhaust on the H100i. Another possibility is to aircool, in which case I would buy a cooling node, and instead of 2 SP120PWM's on the roof, I would run 2 AF140's. Would be good to know if the Corsair link can handle all combinations. Or am I better off sticking to just the Corsair pwm fans ?
