Creative SBX Pro Studio

Hi there

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject.

I am using my Creative Soundblaster ZX card with 5.1 speakers.

From my reading on the web it appears that SBX Pro Studio should only be enabled if you are using headphone on lieu of speakers.

Is my understanding correct ?

Hoping one of you sound gurus can help me.

That is correct. SBX is what replaced CMSS 3D which was found on the X-Fi cards. Basically it's used to create a surround sound effect using stereo headphones.

You can use the crystallize and bass if you want, but don't use the Surround - as the other guy said, that's for imitating surround with stereo headphones, as you have speakers you don't need to imitate anything.
