Anyone got/had one of these?

It looks to me like some sort of rebranded Beyerdynamic headset, I know QPAD worked with Beyer on the QH-1339 (which is tempting but would be a bit overkill). It's also well reviewed.

Anything in this price range [£90-130] that's clearly better? I was looking at the Corsair range but people seem to think the QPAD has it well beaten. I don't mind paying more if it's worth it. My sound card is a Xonar Xense.

Hi, The Qpad QH-90 is a rebrand of the Takstar Pro 80 with a mic. The pro-80 are a great set closed headphones and get rave reviews, if you are after a closed headset, I cannot see you going far wrong.

I have the Beyerdynamic MMX300, these are the beyer version of the QH-1339 and I find them an amazing all rounder.

I also own the Takstar Hi2050, these are the semi-open version of the Pro-80 and are very very similar to the beyer 880. A little eq to tame the treble to my tastes and they are fab for the money.

Aha, thanks! Looks like you are spot on, I'm surprised the QH-90 aren't more popular considering they're well priced.

I have a pair of Beyer DT770's and they're great, I do like the look of the MMX300 but I don't think I'd use it enough for it to be worth it. Tempting though.

mmx300 is essentially 770 premium 32ohm with mic. the "new" mmx300 is base on the 770pro 32 ohm.

Just spotted the QH-85 which is as headset version of the HI2050. a lot of money as the 2050 can be had for <£30. I modded mine with a mic.

The takstars are seriously well built too. Dont think you will go far wrong.

Yeah the QH-85 is the open back version, I definitely think the QH-90 is worth a shot at least. Seems very good.

You could just a get a mic for yours, Sadly mod mic are on back order for 4 months and the 2 I have had have quality control issues and hissing.

I love my QH-85, I decided I would go with open back so my ears wouldn't roast / get uncomfy after a few hours of use.

Took a bit of a gamble on a gaming brand that makes keyboards, but glad I did!

Have been using a black pair of the QH-90s for a couple of months now, and I gave to say they have bedded in really well. I find them to be excellent all-round headphones and extremely comfortable to used for long gaming sessions. One of my best buys this year.

Report: having used them all evening they are indeed rather good, perhaps not great, but good considering the price. I've had a few headsets and at this price point I think they're the clear winner.

However, they seem a bit smaller than what I'm used to, and don't seem a perfect fit. They're a good fit, acceptable, but not perfect.

My DT770's are supremely comfortable and I love them, so with this in mind I'm looking at the MMX 300 or QH-1339, as it's basically a headset version of the DT770s. Yes, it's certainly expensive but I like to buy the best (within reason), or close to. I usually end up slightly disappointed with slightly lower end stuff. Having said that, the QH-90's are very good, and I wouldn't be unhappy if I was stuck with them.

Am I right in thinking the MMX 300/QH-1339 are both pretty much identical aside from the QPAD branding, so I might as well get whatever is cheapest? Looks like they'll cost around £240~.

I have a large head and find that the takstar only just fit on max, does get better as the pad flattens.

There are two versions of the mmx300, I have v1 based on 770 premium 32ohm and come with a usb dac.

V2 has a improved cable and is based on the 770pro, (remove able headband, tighter clamp.)

Qpad are the v2.

I came to the same conclusion after having numerious headphones/headsets. mod micced hd598, dt 990. goldring dr150 etc.

Was just gonna get another modmic for the takstars but I snagged the mmx300 at a steal.

Do it.

p.s. if you want any specific measurements or pics of my mmx, let me know.

Thanks, I'm sure the Beyers will fit fine as the DT770 Pro's are a very comfy fit with room to spare.

Ideally I'd buy the Beyer T70's (£250) if there was an elegant mic solution, but I can't see anything aside from modmic and I don't fancy that due to the wait and the fact it looks a bit naff. :p I don't know if the T70's would be ideal for me but they look pretty awesome.

Which likely brings me back to the MMX/QPAD headset, and like yourself I think it'll provide the best all-round solution for sure. All things even I'd go for the MMX as I don't really care for the QPAD branding, but that doesn't matter too much.

I'm actually now considering the Beyer T70's with the Speed Link SPES clip on mic - I can get both of these for less than the MMX would cost. The only question is will the mic do a good enough job... I suppose I can test it with my DT 770s first and find out. It seems to get rave reviews and YouTube audio tests seem very good.

I had the spes. was fine in a quiet room. try the logitech desktop mic or a snowball mic.

mod mic on backorder for months.

you could always jack mod your 770 and use a boom mic pro. this is similar to what I did previously. ill post some pics in a bit.
