Excellent news if true:

Intel did block the previous attempt with microcode updates, although one forum member(pastymuncher) did find an existing H series motherboard did work(and another chap had no luck with it though).

I assume Asus have found another workaround which would be awesome, although they do mention the following too:

ASUS does not guarantee that Intel new Pentium processor and Core K Series ('Haswell' and 'Haswell Refresh') processors will be overclockable on ASUS H97, H87, B85 and H81 Series motherboards in the event that Intel issues software and firmware updates that result in function changes.

Maybe if motherboard companies keep doing this,it will force Intel to stop doing all these silly blocks!!

It was a Gigabyte B85M-D3H i did it on.

This Asus bios is already live. I just had a look for one of the guys wanting to know if his Asus H81M-E can take all the cpu's and there is a new bios release 2001 which states:-

H81M-E BIOS 2001 and BIOS updater
Support overclocking feature on new Intel® Pentium® Anniversary Edition CPU (G3258)

No mention of the 4690k and 4790k although they are on the support list.

Well, I can't speak for other boards but my 4670k easily hit 4.4Ghz on the wifes Gigabyte B85M-D3H and it has loads of options in the bios including a full range of voltage options. It was only a quick clock so probably would go further as well. That board cost me £48 brand new. Like Cat said though, it didn't work for someone else.

Haven't a clue but the wife bios version is F9 which was the latest one available in March when i built it so not a bios from before the "lock-out". I might keep a eye on the MM to see if any Anniversary Pentiums pop up after people have played with them.
